Correctional Education

Confidence begins before release.

Confident Caller is an AI communication readiness platform built for correctional education programs. Participants practice the conversations that determine their first 90 days of success — before they ever leave the facility.

Day 1
Employment, housing and benefits calls begin the day someone is released. Most participants have not had to navigate these conversations in years.

22
Practice scenarios including 6 structured modules and 16 additional conversations covering every aspect of reentry.

Start before you get out. Be ready on day one.

Communication readiness completes the picture.

GED programs build academic skills. Vocational training builds technical skills. Resume workshops build job search skills. But almost no program addresses what happens when a participant picks up the phone — and that gap costs them opportunities every single day.

📚

GED and Academic Programs

Build foundational literacy and numeracy. Communication readiness builds the verbal confidence to use those skills in real world conversations.

🔧

Vocational Training

Teach trade and technical skills. Communication readiness ensures participants can call about job openings, explain their background and get in the door to use those skills.

📄

Resume Workshops

Create compelling job search materials. Communication readiness ensures participants can follow up on applications and make a strong impression when an employer calls back.

🤝

Interview Preparation

Practice in-person interviews. Communication readiness extends that practice to phone screens, which are typically the first step before any in-person interview.

The Gap Most Programs Miss

"I know what I want to say. I just cannot say it when someone actually answers."

This is one of the most common barriers returning citizens face. They have the skills. They have the resume. They have the training. But when the moment comes to make the call, the words disappear.

Communication readiness closes that gap through practice. Not instruction. Not worksheets. Actual practice with something that talks back.

Someone incarcerated for 10 years returns to a world that changed without them.

Automated phone systems. Insurance verification. Employer screening calls. Benefits navigation. These are not simple tasks for someone who has been away for years — and no one teaches them how to handle it before release.

Phone systems changed completely

Automated menus, hold times, verification questions and digital navigation are now standard. Someone out of practice can fail to access basic services simply because the call felt overwhelming.

Employer calls require specific skills

Calling about a job opening, explaining an employment gap, addressing a background — these are learnable skills. Without practice they feel impossible and most people avoid making the call entirely.

Housing and benefits require advocacy

Calling about transitional housing, SNAP, Medicaid and workforce programs requires knowing what to say, what information to have ready and how to advocate for yourself on the phone.

Family calls carry emotional weight

Reconnecting with children, parents and partners after years of separation is one of the most important and most difficult conversations anyone can face. Practice reduces anxiety and builds confidence.

Supervision calls require professionalism

Communicating effectively with probation officers and case managers is critical to successful reintegration. The tone, language and approach matter enormously.

Avoidance has real consequences

When calls feel overwhelming people avoid them. Avoided calls mean missed appointments, delayed benefits, lost job opportunities and increased instability during the most critical period of reentry.

Hi Marcus, my name is James. I am calling about the forklift operator position I saw posted online.

HIRING MANAGER

Great James, yes we do have that opening. Can you tell me a bit about your experience with forklifts and your work history?

💡 Coach Tip: Great opening. State your experience clearly and address your background confidently.

I only wished that something like this was available while I was preparing my transitional return back into society. Offering information and education to prevent recidivism is absolutely amazing and very much needed.

My grandfather always enforced the 5 P's — Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. Great way to implement the 5 P's with Confident Caller!

Questions from correctional education coordinators.

Does it work on facility tablets like JPay or GTL?

Confident Caller runs in any modern web browser. If your facility tablets have internet access and a browser the platform will work. Contact us to discuss specific device compatibility for your facility network.

Does it require accounts or personal information?

No. Participants can begin practicing immediately with no account, no email and no personal information required. Progress is saved locally on the device. This design protects participant privacy and removes all setup friction.

Is conversation data stored or shared?

Practice conversations are not stored on our servers. Sessions happen between the participant's device and the AI in real time. We do not record, store or share conversation content. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Can this be included in a grant application?

Yes. Confident Caller may fit within communication readiness, workforce development and reentry preparation grant categories including DOL Second Chance Act and Title I Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funding. We recommend consulting your grants administrator. We can provide program documentation to support your application process.

How does participant progress tracking work?

Because no accounts are required, individual progress is saved locally on each participant's device. On Growth and Enterprise plans we provide a coordinator reporting link that participants use to submit their completion data when they finish each module and earn their certificate. This gives coordinators a consolidated view of program completion without requiring participant accounts or personal information. We are happy to walk you through the exact workflow on a call.

Can we add custom scenarios specific to our program?

Yes on the Enterprise plan. We can build custom scenarios specific to the population you serve, the geography you operate in or the specific reentry challenges most relevant to your participants.

What does the Certificate of Communication Readiness include?

The certificate includes the participant name, the completion date, all 6 completed module titles and the Confident Caller platform seal. It is downloadable as a PDF and can be included in reentry portfolios, presented to employers and documented in program files.

Is there a pilot program available?

Yes. We offer a free pilot period for correctional education programs that want to evaluate the platform before committing to a paid plan. Contact us at hello@confidentcaller.com to discuss a pilot for your program.

Where can I find full details on privacy, AI accuracy and accessibility?

We have a dedicated Trust and Safety page that answers every question your IT department, legal team and funders will ask. View our Trust and Safety page →

Give them the confidence to succeed before they walk out the door.

Confident Caller is free for participants to try right now. Contact us to discuss a pilot program for your correctional education program or facility.
